How to Apply to the Gateway to College Program
To qualify for this program, you MUST:
Are between 16 and 20 years old with at least an 8th grade reading level
Are able to attain a high school diploma before turning 22 years old
Have left high school before graduation OR at risk of dropping out
Have less than senior standing or are behind in high school credits
Live within a participating school district (Brockton, Boston, or Randolph; proof of residency required, i.e. library card, bill, magazine subscription)
Can provide proof of medical insurance coverage
Are able to pay a $57.00 registration fee for every semester you are enrolled in the program
Step 1: Request a Gateway to College Preliminary Application Form by calling 508-588-9100 ext. 1688 or downloading the application here. Once completed, you may fax the form to 508-427-1271 or mail form to:

Step 2: Attend a 2-day Evaluation Session
If you meet the requirements for eligibility, you will be referred to an evaluation session and be required to complete an application packet. During the evaluation session you will take a series of tests in reading, writing and math which will be used to evaluate your readiness and placement in the program.
Step 3: Participate in an Individual Interview
During the Evaluation Session, you will be scheduled for an individual interview. The interviews generally occur one week after your Evaluation Session and are about 15 minutes long. The interview gives us an opportunity to get to know you better, and learn more about your strengths and motivations.
Step 4: Complete / submit all required paperwork
Once you have completed the above steps and turned in all required paperwork (completed and signed application, 3 essays, high school transcripts from ALL schools attended, confidential release, school district information form,official withdrawal letter (if already dropped out) and proof of residency, the selection committee will review your file and determine if you will be accepted into the program.
